Creating a sales and tip distribution disclaimer for employees
If you want to warn an employee that their sales and tips are subject to change as a result of further sales and tip distribution, you can configure the system to print a message on their checkout report, their clockout chit, or both.
To create a sales and tip disclaimer message:
- Select Maintenance > Messaging > Guest Check Message.
- Click New and accept the system assigned number or click the ellipsis button (...) next to 'Number' to display the Number Assignment dialog box, from which you can choose an alternate number
- Type a name to help identify the message, such as 'SalesTips Disclaimer.'
- Under the 'Footer text' group bar, type the text to appear at the bottom of the checkout report or the clock-out chit in 'Line 1' through 'Line 12.'
- Click Save and exit the Guest Check Message function.
To print the disclaimer on employee checkout reports:
- Select Maintenance > Business > Store.
- Select the Store Settings tab.
- Select the Report Printing group located at the bottom of the screen.

- Under the 'Checkout Reports - General Checkout' group bar, select the disclaimer message you created in the Guest Check Message function from the 'Print sales and tip distribution disclaimer on employee checkout' drop-down list.
- Click Save and exit the Store function.
To print the disclaimer on employee clock-out chits:
- Select Maintenance > Labor > Jobcodes.
- Select a job code subject to sales and tip distribution from the drop-down list.
- Select the Financial tab.

- Under the 'Tips' group bar, select the disclaimer message you created in the Guest Check Message function from the ‘Print sales and tip distribution disclaimer on clock out chit’ drop-down list.
- Click Save.
- Repeat this procedure for all other job codes for which to print the disclaimer on the clock-out chit.
- Exit the Jobcodes function.
