When a guest check or credit card voucher prints, the system prints the calculated suggested tip amounts in the footer of the guest check and credit card voucher.

The ($TIPSALE) variable uses net tippable sales to calculate the suggested tip values that appear in the guest check message.

The ($TAXEDTIPSALE) variable uses gross tippable sales to calculate the suggested tip values that appear in the guest check message. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) requests that employees report tips based on gross sales. (This variable is available in POS v14.1 and later.)

The ($CHECKSUBTOTAL) variable uses the check subtotal in which to calculate the suggested tip values that appear in the guest check message. (This variable is available in POS v14.1 and later.)
