Each department in an organization has different allowable markdown options for the items in that department. Discount an item by selecting or setting a percentage or dollar amount to based on its department.

User roles

Users with full permissions can enter a price, select any discount level (provided levels are set), or enter a custom discount.

Users with limited permissions are guided through discount levels and cannot enter a custom price.

Marking an item with Reduce to Clear pricing

The Reduce to Clear feature responds differently depending on an item's department configuration and user permissions.

Limited users will need to work with store managers to add and edit Reduce to Clear configuration.

• Tap on the Reduce to Clear feature from the home dashboard.

• Scan an item.
  

• The Reduce to Clear screen will pull in the maximum discount threshold and discount levels according to the configuration set for the item's department in Reduce to Clear Configuration.

  📝 For an item in a department where the configuration is not set, see No configuration behavior.

• Select or enter a markdown discount. The new Reduce to Clear Price is calculated and displayed.

  • (a) Use the discount levels to generate the new markdown price. You can select the levels as long as the calculated Reduce to Clear price does not exceed the maximum discount threshold. If it does, the option will be greyed out.

  • (b) Enter a custom discount. If the calculated price exceeds the maximum discount threshold, you will not be able to save the price and must enter an eligible discount.

  • (c) Enter the new final discount price. If the price exceeds the maximum discount threshold, you will not be able to save the price and must enter an eligible price.

  📝 Users with limited permissions must follow a guided discount flow.

• Save the Reduce to Clear price.

  • Specify the number of labels needed in the Label Quantity field. By default, the label quantity is set to 1. You can adjust this number incrementally with the + and - buttons, or you can input a number into the quantity field by tapping the field and activating the keyboard.

    📝 The label quantity must be an integer greater than 0 and less than 100. If it is set to an invalid number, you will see an error message requesting a valid input.

  • Select a label format using the dropdown menu. Dropdown options are provided by the retailer.

  • Select a print location. Dropdown options are provided by the retailer.

  • Press Print to save.

• Scan the next item or return to the home screen.

Guided discount flow

If you are a user with limited permission, you are guided through the discount levels and cannot enter custom discounts.

• Scan an item whose department's Reduce to Clear configuration has been set.

• The discount level is automatically selected and the Reduce to Clear price is calculated and displayed.

• Press Print to save the Reduce to Clear price.

• Scan the next item or return to the home screen.

  📝 An item cannot be discounted below the maximum discount threshold set in the department's reduce to clear configuration. You will not be able to select or save any discount levels that reduce an item's price below the maximum discount threshold.

No configuration behavior

If you scan an item and the item's department Reduce to Clear configuration parameters have not been set, you can cancel and scan a different item, or create levels for the item's department.
