Mutual Exclusion Groups (MEGs)
Mutual Exclusion Group (MEG) refers to a group or set of promotions that cannot trigger at the same time in the same transaction. These groups are created at the admin level and are linked to promotions. They allow placing exclusion rules around an offer.
Mutual exclusion groups are of two types:
-
Item level: When two or more offers are exclusive at the item level, they cannot use the same item to satisfy the product condition.
-
Offer level: If multiple offers are active in a single transaction, only one of those offers are applied to the transaction.
-
On the left navigation panel, expand Admin and click Mutual Exclusion Groups. The following screen appears:
The Mutual Exclusion Groups screen has Group Name, Group Type, Last Updated, Associations, ellipsis to Edit or Delete the group.
- Group Name: Name of the mutual exclusion group.
- Group Type: Refers to either the item level or the offer level.
- Last Updated: The most recent update for the group occurred on the specified date.
- Associations: The number of promotions a mutual exclusion group linked to.
- Ellipsis: To edit or delete the group.
