Release notes for the Aloha Cloud Back Office restaurant and hospitality software product.

Requires POS version: — Indicates the feature has a dependency on a specific POS version.

Version 25.6

January 20, 2026

  • Enhancing POS Messages: Aloha Cloud allows you to create, schedule, and send targeted messages to employees at clock-in, which remain visible until a designated expiration date. Messages can be customized based on job codes, store locations, and timeframes to reach specific employee groups. Employees with the appropriate permissions can access the POS messages screen in the Back Office. For example, a store manager logs into the Back Office and sets up a message for cashiers by specifying the relevant job code, store, and timeframe. This functionality ensures that all relevant staff receive important updates at the start of their shift. This functionality enhances team communication, ensures the staff receive timely updates at the start of their shifts. Note that Admin users have read-only access to the POS Messages screen. (ACP-15415). For more information, refer to Configuring POS Messages.

  • Supporting tip recognition on CFD: Aloha Cloud now supports displaying an animated GIF on the customer facing display (CFD). You can easily upload these images, in GIF format, through the Image Manager screen in the Back Office. When a customer offers a tip amount, the animated GIF appears on the tip screen to convey appreciation. This feature encourages customer generosity, fosters loyalty, and helps restaurants create a more dynamic and welcoming environment. (ACP-15391). Requires POS version: v7.0. For more information, refer to "Uploading tip animation image"

  • Hiding default modifiers in kitchen: Aloha Cloud now allows you to hide default modifiers for items sent to the kitchen display system (KDS) and the kitchen chit. You can enable this feature in the Back Office; however, any modifications like adding or removing a default modifier still appear on the KDS. This allows the kitchen staff to focus on exceptions, improve clarity, and save time. This feature helps restaurants to streamline operations and reduce paper usage. (ACP-14627) Requires POS version: v7.0. For more information, refer to Configuring modifier settings.

  • Introducing one-behind routing: Aloha Cloud now supports one-behind routing to streamline kitchen operations. For different order modes (dine-in, takeout and more), enabled in Aloha Cloud Back Office, the One-Behind Routing feature enables each item to appear on the kitchen display system (KDS) when you enter the next item in the order. If the item is the last in the order, it appears when you apply payment or manual send. (ACP-12856). Requires POS version: v7.0. For more information, refer to "Defining store information".

  • Supporting Loyalty sign-up and Reward redemption on CFD screen: Aloha Cloud now enables Consumer Marketing reward redemptions directly from the customer-facing display (CFD), when configured in Back Office. Existing customers can easily retrieve their loyalty rewards by entering their phone number on the CFD screen. For new customers without a loyalty account, the system prompts account creation automatically using the provided phone number or gives them the option to sign up instantly, based on the loyalty program configured. This feature allows Customers to benefit from the flexibility to complete any checkout, payment, loyalty assignment, or sign-up process from the CFD device, ensuring a fast and seamless guest experience. This convenience encourages repeat visits by making it easy to earn and redeem rewards. (ACP-11239 & ACP-5063). Requires POS version: v7.0. For more information, refer to "Redeeming Loyalty Rewards using CFD,", "Implementing a loyalty program".

Version 25.5

September 30, 2025

  • Printing merchant logo on customer receipt: Aloha Cloud now supports printing a merchant logo in the header section of the customer receipt. You can upload the logo using a new Image Manager function in the Back Office and automatically synchronizes across all available POS terminals (PX10, PX15, Axium AX5), the customer facing display (CFD), and prints on the customer receipt. (ACP-16670). For more information, refer to "Uploading a customer logo,".

Version 25.4

August 12, 2025

  • Aloha Cloud Back Office v2025.4.0 focuses primarily on supporting choice reward limits for Consumer Marketing campaigns. Refer to the "Aloha Cloud POS Version 6.17 release notes."

Version 25.3

June 25, 2025

  • ACP-8434: Aloha Cloud now supports the offline redemption and earning of points for Consumer Marketing loyalty providers. This enables a seamless reward transaction to function even when the connection is offline.

  • ACP-12450: Aloha Cloud now supports the assignment of 'Revenue centers' to a specific device or to an order mode for the selected store in Back Office; however, a new user role permission allows a supervisor to change the revenue center, if required. This helps to distinguish the sales for different areas in the restaurant, such as dine-in, take-out, catering service, and more. Additionally, you can access Revenue center reports in the Pulse mobile app with appropriate user role permission in Aloha Cloud Back Office. Requires POS version: v6.16. For more information, refer to "Understanding POS levels of access," "Configuring revenue centers," and "Working with revenue centers."

  • ACP-2884: Aloha Cloud now supports printing of a merchant logo in the header section of the customer receipt. When you upload a designated logo in Aloha Cloud Back Office, it automatically synchronizes across all available POS terminals (PX10, PX15, Axium AX5), Customer facing displays (CFD), and prints on the customer receipts. Requires POS version: v6.16. For more information, refer to "Defining company information."

  • ACP-9481 When integrating with Aloha Smart Manager (ASM), Aloha Cloud now supports schedule enforcement in the POS system when employees clock-in and clock-out. This requires configuration of Schedule Enforcement in Aloha Cloud Back Office, where you define a designated grace period of up to 30 minutes before or after for both clock-in and clock-out times. If an employee attempts to start or end their shift outside the configured grace period, a 'Manager Approval Needed' screen appears on the POS system. Additionally, if configured in Aloha Cloud Back Office, all unscheduled shifts require manager approval, and an employee with an adequate permission must authorize the operation. Requires POS version: v6.16. For more information, refer to "Configuring schedule enforcement,", "Enforcing schedules, "Defining user roles with ASM integration.".

Version 2025.2.0

February 20, 2025

New features

  • ACP-8305: By default, employees assigned to multiple user roles can perform functions allowed by any user role assigned to them regardless of the user role they used when they clocked in. Aloha Cloud now supports a new security control that limits the employee to only the permissions allowed for the user role under which they are clocked in. An employee with sufficient permission must enter their PIN and click Override to continue. The new security control is selected by default, limiting employee permissions. You must select this new security control to retain the original default behavior. Requires POS version: v6.15. For more information, refer to "Overriding user role permissions when multiple user roles assigned."

  • ACP-7208: Aloha Cloud now supports displaying images for the corresponding menu item buttons on the POS screen, improving order accuracy and speed and enhancing the consumer experience. Be aware, if you enable this feature and an item within the selected category does not have a defined image, all item buttons appear the same size in the POS; however, the first two letters of the item name appear on the button instead for any item without a defined image. If no items within a category have a defined image, the POS screen appears as normal. Store-level overrides for item images and images on a category button are not currently supported. To view an example of images appearing on the POS screen, click "Viewing item images". Requires POS version: v6.15. For more information, refer to "Defining company information" and "Creating items."
