Logging in to the POS
You must log in with your four-digit PIN or swipe your badge each time you access your POS device. Once you log in, you can clock in and clock out, start and end a financial shift, if necessary, enter customer orders, and accept payments.
To log in to the POS:
- Launch the POS application on your device. The login screen appears.

- Enter your four digit PIN or slide your employee card.
- Tap Login. The POS home screen appears.
Upgrading the POS app
When a new release is available, a flyout notification appears on top of the screen to inform you that a new version is available. You can accept the update or dismiss the notification and update at a later time. The notification appears only when you log in to the POS for the first time, and does not reappear within the same business day/shift. This activity ensures you receive more direct communication around important updates rather than relying on email communication only. The notification appears for few seconds. Click the close icon to dismiss the notification. When dismissed, the notification doesn't appear again until the next time you log in. You can also manually initiate the upgrade process from the cloud icon.

Tap the flyout notification to view the update details.
To upgrade the POS:
You can upgrade the POS app in No store server or Use store server mode.
If you are using 'No store' server Mode:
When a new software version is available for update, a pop-up notification with an 'upgrade option' appears on the POS screen.

-
Tap Upgrade to view the update details. The Upgrade pop-up appears.

-
Tap OK to update the POS Application version now, or tap Cancel to postpone the update for another time. The system downloads the update package, and a confirmation screen appears.

WARNING: Do not power off the terminal while the installation is in progress.
-
Tap Install. Once the installation completes, a notification screen appears.

-
Tap Open. The Aloha Cloud login page appears, and you can resume transactions.
NOTE: Ensure the connection status as online, and the information prior to the upgrade remains the same after the installation process.

NOTE: If you perform a new registration after logging in, an 'Update Available' popup appears. Click Upgrade Now to begin downloading the software update, and then proceed to install the update once the download is complete.
If you are using 'Use Store' server mode:
When a new software version is available for update, a pop-up notification with an 'upgrade option' appears on the POS screen.

Tap Upgrade to view the update details and continue with the installation steps as mentioned above.
NOTE: Your POS application, server and KDS must be on the same version.
When you upgrade the POS, the server may not be on the same version, and a subsequent 'Upgrade the server to the same version as this application' message appears.

The message could also appear on the KDS.

Tap Upgrade Server to upgrade the server to the installed POS version.
NOTE: For handheld devices, the Upgrade button is available on the POS screen. The option to upgrade appears once a new version is available.
