Percentage markup on cost
Percentage markup on cost is a specific percentage applied to the cost price of a product to determine the new unit price.
For example, an item has a selling price of $50.00 and a cost price of $20.00. If a promotion sets a 50% markup on the cost price, the new unit price of the item will be $30.00. This is calculated by adding 50% of the cost price ($10.00) to the actual cost price ($20.00). Consequently, the discount offered on the item will be $20.00, which is the difference between the selling price ($50.00) and the new unit price ($30.00).
To configure the Percentage Markup on Cost, navigate to the Actions & Rewards section, click on the Reward Type drop-down, and select 'Percentage Markup on Cost' from the Pricing rewards.
-
In the Amount field, enter the ‘markup percentage’ to apply to the cost price of an item.
-
Enter the message in the Receipt Text box (up to 100 characters) to print on the receipt.
Note: NVL, as an enterprise, integrates with various POS systems or different promotion execution systems. The receipt message can get truncated due to specific configurations handling the length in the downstream integrations.
