About Aloha Cloud Manager Guide
Introduction
This guide helps you, the restaurant manager, deliver better service to guests and quickly resolve troubleshooting issues. For purposes of this document, manager and owner are considered one and the same. Use this guide to follow step-by-step procedures for common daily tasks. Some tasks are performed directly on the POS device, while others require access to Aloha Cloud Back Office through a web browser.
Opening your restaurant
This section discusses the functions it is necessary to perform at the beginning of each day.
Running your restaurant
Running your restaurant involves performing routine tasks throughout the day or shift. These tasks may include resetting employee PINs and passwords, deleting items and guest checks, processing refunds and petty cash transactions, printing in-progress financial shift reports, reopening financial shifts, and much more.
Performing security procedures
All employees log in using a unique four-digit PIN. You may need to change an employee’s PIN for security reasons or if they forget it. For employees with access to Aloha Cloud Back Office, you may also need to reset their password.

Performing cash drawer procedures
Use the Pay In and Pay Out functions to manage petty cash in the drawer. These transactions are recorded in the Shift End report of the employee who was active on the device at the time of the transaction.

Connection Status
Aloha Cloud displays a cloud icon on every POS screen to indicate the device's connection status. The color of the cloud icon indicates the connection status of the device. When you tap the cloud icon, a connection drop-down menu appears indicating the specific state of the device connection to the host, the server (if applicable), and the credit processor (if integrated credit is used). From this menu, you can synchronize data with the host, switch the device to offline mode, and return the device to online mode.
