Production Line Base Items
With Kitchen selected in the product panel, select Maintenance > Kitchen Configuration > Production Assembly Line > Production Line Base Items. Use the Production Line Base Items function to configure an ID record to represent a placeholder at the top of a production assembly screen. The production line base item is not an item in Item Maintenance and serves only to indicate the type of item on a production assembly line screen, such as Tacos, Bowls, Subs, and more. When the order includes one of these types of items, the production line base item appears highlighted on the screen. The ID numbers you create for the production line base items appear in succession across the screen so you may want to skip every five ID numbers for your base items to allow for the addition of new production line base items in the middle of the succession.

Group Bar: Identification
Initials — Specifies the text to appear on the 'Assembly line production screen' for the base item. Character space may be limited on the screen. For example, you could use 'Bur' for a burrito.
Category — Specifies the category of items to associate with the production line base item.
Quantity — Displays a quantity next to the production line base item name if you sell the item in quantities. For example, tacos may have a total of three single tacos to an order. This option is necessary for orders injected into Aloha Takeout. Leave the quantity at '1' unless it is appropriate. This option may cause reporting issues, if used incorrectly.
